Child asking security from Parents

Today I read a heartbreaking news that a 17 year was brutally beaten by parents because he was not able to secure 99% mark in High School exams. I am not able to understand how can you hurt your child. No doubt so many children commit suicide. I understand education is important but it is not the end of life. Do you agree?

Life is so demanding on the kids of today and as long as a child goes to school, gives it their all and doesn't fail, that would be all I ask. Too put such a high demand on a child is unrealistic for some and it is inexcusable for any parent to hit a child for that. They should be arrested and jailed and the child should be protected

This is too much and the education system is responsible for that but parents should get together and work against this cut off marks. It's just a trick to earn money. Children should also take their studies seriously.

I agree with you. No child must be beaten like that if they are not doing as their parents expected. even if they are not physically abused, even verbal abuse of parents if their children who is not doing well... i am sure this will do permanent damage to them and may cause them to lose confidence, or be pressured that they may suffer mentally and psychology.
