A Surprise Encounter

Was sitting in a church reception area this afternoon, and someone walks in, and greets me.
I said hi, but was wondering how he new my name. I stared at him for a minute, then he asks me..."Don't you recognize me? I'm your brother Billy." I really didn't... I have not seen him in over 20 years. What are the odds of being at that church, at the exact time he walks in???
I kept being drawn to this church every time I went by it, and today I decided to drop by, and speak to their pastor. He actually has worked at this church for the past 26 years.
We just sat there, and giggled at each other. We did not know what to say, because it had been so long.
I saw a big poster of my niece up on the wall. It turns out that my brother's oldest daughter Rachel, has a heart for the mission field. This church supports her travels. I believe she is in her early 20's, if not very late teens.
The pastor there just raved about my niece Rachel. She told me that when she is in town, she speaks to their youth groups about mission evangelism.
She is on her third long term stay. She goes out for several months at a time. She wants to spend her life doing mission work. This is her heart and passion.
She is in Cambodia this time. She is actually one of the leaders now, and leads a team on every trip. For such a young age and to have so much responsibility is amazing.
Everyone is really impressed with her. Her mother says that she could not do it. It would be too much for her, but she is very proud of her daughter.
Rachel's desire is to go into all the remote parts of the world, to share the gospel. It takes a special person to be able to spend their life doing this. I too...am very proud of her.
Billy invited me to drop by to see them. I kind of feel awkward though... Because when is a good time to go? I know he is my brother, but it has been so long since we've communicated. He works nights a lot, at UPS, as well. So... He stays busy.
Billy has the Brady Bunch. Six children. His first three were girls, and his last three were boys. He originally wanted twelve. But I think his wife drew the line, after the first six. LOL

Hi Teresa. I think your brother is trying to bridge the gap between you after a long time of not having communication. It is high time.

It's a long story. So... It is probably better to keep things under wraps. LOL
