Hi guys. Yesterday I had visited McDonald's after my window shopping activity as I was famished. I ordered my food and sat in the ac section. As I went there, I saw a big group of teenagers hanging out over there. They all were friends probably in a school or college. They all were enjoying themselves chatting with each other and having a good time. I sat quietly among them relishing my strawberry shake, regular fries and MC aloo tikki burger. They all had worn trendy clothes guys and girls both. They then were ordering their food. By watching them closely I remembered my days as a teenager how we use to hang out which was completely different than what they were doing. In my time we use to carry home made food to our canteens and have it by sharing with our friends. We use to go watch movies too occassionally not that often. We didn't had expensive mobiles with us. Still were having a great time as we were in good company of our friends. When I look at this millennial generation I really wonder how much pocket money they must be getting from their parents. Also does their parents make them understand the value of money while giving it??. Do they make sure by periodically asking them where they are spending money and how much?? I really feel it's nothing wrong in giving teenagers pocket money but they should be made aware to value money and use it thoughtfully.

@mrki444 I think it's the right age to educate them about it's importance.

Today is different. I remember going to the Mall with girl friends as a teen. We had no cell phones and we had a little bit of money to spend, not a whole lot. Sometimes some of us would just window shop and not buy one thing. It was just being together and having fun that made us happy.

we also grew up bringing packed lunch to school. but now people here are used to eating at fastfood chains, at convenience stores like 7-11 and the food courts at the mall. like you, i also wonder if students today have more spending money.

I agree with you my friend.. some millennial nowadays doesn't know the value of money and just keep on spending whatever they want to buy even it is not so important.

Teenagers like going to the McDonalds here, too. When I go there (it rarely happens), I always see some group of teenagers sitting and eating there.
