I have to ask because I see that everyone herhere speaks very good English. I thought that only in America we spoke English but I see that people from other countries speak it as well. Is English your language in your country or how did you learn to speak It?

English is our second language here in our country. I learned to speak it because my parents say it and in school it is the language being used.

@JolietJake yes! But I'd say most is carelesness or arrogance. Or it's trendy to speak like a semi-illiterate person :))

@Ladanger Here in America there are different accents of English. Here in the South East, many Southerners as myself, talk with a distinct Southern Accent. People in the North East, have a Northern Accent.

Well, the English language has been one of the most important languages in the world right now and it's a definite advantage to learn it. When you travel, you need not learn another's language except English as there are lots of people worldwide know how to speak it. Plus, it's one of the easiest languages to learn also as you can learn from movies, books, and millions of material online. It's great, though, that in this community, many people know how to speak understandable English, so that's awesome. (hehe)

English is taught in schools here and I have picked it up by reading and listening to tv programmes. My work place gave me ample opportunity.
