All moved in...

Finally all moved in. I went from the smallest room in the house, to the largest. When I think about it... God has been expanding my living space a little at a time. Line upon line. Precept upon precept. Before I moved into this place, I was in a room so small...I could barely turn around even with a single bed in it, and it had a closet about the size of most people's hall closet in their foyer. And even though I was in the smallest room here, it was still twice the size of where I came from, with twice the closet space. I did feel restricted a bit, but it was doable. When the landlord offered me the master bedroom; when he delivered the bed; he told me that he felt this room would be a better fit for me, and I told him that I could not agree more!!! The bed he delivered was a queen size sleigh bed. It took up a lot of the space, but it is real pretty. The mattress is not as soft as I would like, even with the memory foam I have on it. I might need to get another one. Maybe it will make it a little more comfortable. He had me keep the dresser from the other bedroom. It actually matches my armoire. I was hoping he would have brought something that matched the bed. The bed color is a little darker than the dresser; but it goes okay. My landlord has never been about fashion, only function. He could care less if anything matched. LOL When I leave the double doors open that leads to the master bath, even with the large bed...it gives the room a much bigger feel...especially since the depth of the master bath is about half the size of the bedroom. Last night was my first night in the bedroom, and when I was lying in bed and seeing how big the rooms was...I realized that this master suite is much larger than the entire efficiency (which included a small bathroom, and kitchen...that I started out with, when I first moved back to Jacksonville. And yet...I still have access to the house' kitchen, and living area (which very few of us rarely use)... We all pretty much stay in our rooms, unless we are cooking. It's like a whole new feeling that I have... It's almost like I moved into an entire different place. The stress is gone. There is so much peace now. There will still be challenges living with others...but the atmosphere is so much different now. There is a window in the bathroom, and I will need to get some new curtains. What's up there, pretty much sucks. LOL There is a huge mirror on the wall, next to the garden tub. And a huge mirror over the double vanity. So it makes the bathroom feel even larger. The walk-in closet is nice and deep, with two extra double rungs to hang clothes on. It is actually 40% longer than the other bedroom. as well. So I have lots of space now to hang my clothes, store things, and room to grow!!! I have two windows in the master bedroom that bring in a lot of light, and I need to get valances and/or curtains for them, too. I need to find some area rugs, and a few little things to decorate the room better with; to give it a more "homey" feeling. Yeah... My budget is so tight...so not sure how much I will be able to do. But maybe God will surprise me. He sure did, when He gave me this bedroom! For the first time since I moved in...it feels like home, and not just a boarding house.

Wow, good for you! I think you deserve it. After all the experience of having a small room this is a big change. Enjoy!

I'm so glad you're happy with your new room, and that bed sounds awesome.. minus the not so soft mattress.

I know. That is why I am hoping to find another foam piece to add to the bed.

I have rented rooms in peoples homes before. It is very tight knit for space and I need lots of space to move around. Thankfully I am able now to rent a one bedroom apartment.

I am on a waiting list for a retirement center. Been waiting for 2.5 years. Have about a year or so to go. Then I will have my own bedroom. So looking forward to that day.
