Ash for Stomach Ache

Working with supervisors from the rural areas, I don't easily believe on home remedies for health issues. Yesterday, I insisted to accompany one supervisor to the hospital and he was hesitant. He is rather looking for clean ash to dilute with water and drink it. Claiming it would cure the pain, as they have been doing while living in the mountainous Kalinga where hospitals means 10 hour walk. So here I am stumbling to this site claiming "Orally administered charcoal is effective in preventing many intestinal infections". So there when you go out camping or those sorts and stomach ache attacks, dilute some ash, let it settle for a bit and it is safe to drink!
Charcoal has many uses as a natural remedy. It helps absorb harmful substances.

@anamika161088 indeed, it can just be used for emergency cases, as it has been used at places where doctors are not present and hospitals are miles away.

There are a lot of home remedies that work. I think Big Pharma is opposed to anything that cuts into their profits. The home remedies are better than nothing when you are far away from medical facilities or you can't get there.
