In India traffic jams is the most common scene one witnesses everyday in different states and cities. In Mumbai, where I stay, it's worst thing. Everyday billions of people in India have to face them. Traffic jams occurs due to many reasons:- 1. Poor road infrastructure 2. No traffic rules followed by most people 3. Entry of heavy vehicles into the city 4. People crossing roads carelessly 5. Festivals or functions or even sports being played on one side of road. Due to traffic jams which last for long hours at times, it results in constant honking done by many people which gives rise to noise pollution. Traffic jams causes air and noise pollution which causes much harm to people in everyday lives. Air pollution because majority of people do not turn off their vehicles in traffic for some time or on signal for the constant hurry to go somewhere. Government takes many measures in order to maintain traffic laws and regulations, but unless it's citizens don't consciously practice traffic rules, nothing will improve. What are your views about it?? Do you face heavy traffic everyday?? How you deal with it??

This problem is the same in all big cities of India. There seems to be no escape from this problem. If only people were willing to walk short distances and also willing to use more public transport for longer distances, the problem of so much traffic jam would not eb threre. Even for a distance of walking 30 minutes, people want abike or car. This increasing usage of cars and bikes is what is causing not only more and more traffic jam, air pollution also.

Did you say Billions of people? I guess that's the source of high traffic in your country. Here we experience the normal traffic but there are alternative means such as underground trains.
