Hey I've read that #12: Go Set a Watchman

"Go Set A Watchman" by Harper Lee was a complete let down. Well let's start out by saying that this doesn't even come close to the quality of book that I expected it to be. The first five or so chapters were decent enough and I actually enjoyed them, however it went downhill from there. It continued to get worse, to the point that the last five chapters were painful to read. Like actually physically painful to read. Scout, was a totally differnt character than I expected it to be. She is not at all how I envisioned her to be when she grew up. She started out okay, an independent woman returning to a small town, but by the end of the book she was mean and hateful. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. The book wasn't really well thought out or organized. It really felt like it was rushed, or that it was an after thought. I know there have been tons of stories about how this isn't actually written by Harper Lee as well as a couple other things, and after reading it- I almost want to agree. The writing style is all wrong. The book reads like political propaganda. I am kind of sorry that I waited so long to read it. I hate that I have to say this, especially with how much I love her other book- but I do not recommend this at all. I give it half a star out of five, and that's being generous.
