Hello guys, I’m expecting my second child which is a baby boy this September after six years of my first child. I remember we have a problem in giving name of our first baby girl, upon delivery the nurse ask what name should we give her. And to be honest, we haven’t think of one, then. Now, we don’t like to experience the same. So we are looking for a good name now for our baby boy. So guys, how do you choose a name for a baby?

I look through baby names and their meaning. I write down the names I like and I go to process of elimination. But it is a good start if you have a preference of the first letter of their name to be. My kids both have two names. The first name of my kids is a biblical name. The second name is the name I like. Hope it helps.

You weren't that excited when your first baby came that you didn't even have a name for her? I would suggest having a party like a baby shower and one fo the games during that party is to name the baby. You can get ideas from that.

@simplfred You have 9 months and yet you forget. I would even think of the name the very first time I found out I was pregnant.

@toniganzon Yeah, but we cannot replay the time anymore, that's why we've learned our lesson.

Maybe because of our excitement we forget to think of her name... lol. At the end I think even in impromptu we gave her a lovely name. That's definitely a nice idea, but i think economically wise, I will just search for a good name.

I don't have any kids but I have names set on mind :) I would just research and look for names or if there are names or words resembling that is something you like or your own unique twist.

@simplfred Yes each night you two can think of words, names, what you like and twist some names around and come up with your own =) Write them in a journal and create a name you feel is right for your baby boy =) Btw, congrats!

when my son was born, i gave him his first name. i love St. Joseph, hence, Josef. his second name is the second name of our beloved Mamang. we just removed the last letter and that was it.

@simplfred the older people use the calendar, you know, the one whose image is the sacred Heart of Jesus. there are names of saints in every date. the saint in my birthdate is St. Josaphat.

Sometimes the name will come to you as an inspiration. You will know if it is right because it will "feel" right. It is as if your baby is "telling" you what his name should be.

@simplfred I was 8 months preggo with my second daughter and my then partner and I couldn't agree on a name. We were watching a Lethal Weapon movie and Danny Glover's character had a daughter named "Rhiann". As soon as I heard it I looked at my partner and yelled "THAT'S IT! That's what we are naming her! He agreed and so we named our daughter "Rheanne". True story.

I found it difficult to find a name for my disabled son who was born in May 2007. His dad said how about Teo and I said how about Leo because it sounds more normal. I thought of Leo the Lion in the way my son has to be brave. I found it much easier to find a name for my daughter. I named her Amber and put the names Lauren and Holly in her middle names.

First of congratulations and many wishes to you and your family. A baby born in any family is always an amazing and gifted things. As per name, go with something thats similar to your 1st girl. Like it will be kind of attached of 1st and 2nd. I am not saying to put up similar name, but something that is attached. All the best, Please let us know what name you kept after you decided .

Yeah, I have some choices, but I really can't decide. My wife wanted to connect it to her favorite artist but I don't like it.

I made a list of names I liked. We chose from that. I always had the baby's name picked out by the third month of my pregnancy. There are also baby books for you to choose names, or you can find the same online too.

I would never do that. I named my cats cow, monkey, tiger, and squeaky. And two of our dogs Mojo and Poopie. I suck with names. No one should ever let me name a baby.
