Missed the right day

I had to go to our local office mail, I've looked today what are the hours they are at the office, and I saw they work til late 8PM. I went my way there and they were closed, it was so upsetting. It came out that there are 2 places, and that I looked at the wrong one! Have it happened to you, that you got the wrong details, went to a place just to know it's closed?

the post office stay open that late?they may work night to assort the mail but the office closed at five.

Why would they say they work until 8PM and they actually close early? Quite irritating
