So, they tell us to spray OFF to keep from getting bitten by the chiggers. I wonder if this is something to look out for. I got some bites near my ankle just for spraying the lawn with the garden hose a few days ago. So, as if the mosquitoes aren't biting much, then we have to start looking out for those chiggers. But what do I know about them? They hang around in the yard and like to bite people. I guess that is what nature intended. But, is this chigger bite thing anything to worry about ? I don't really have a clue. But I got some information by reading an article by the Dallas News. Here is a link. Take a look at it and see what it's all about.
North Texas is seeing a chigger infestation unlike anything the region has seen in nearly 30 years. Based on filed reports and calls to Texas...

Sneeky little critters. They bite you without you knowing and later you start to itch around the ankles.

@wolfgirl569 Bad enough we got to deal with this global warming stuff. It don't take a rocket scientist to know things are getting hotter every year. And bugs don't seem to mind.

Hi Anthony. I have never heard of chiggers.

They are apparently common grass born insects, similar in nature to fleas and ticks in that they are blood sucking vampire bugs.

they look quite scary indeed, especially since they are barely visible.

I'm glad they are so tiny. I would not like them if they got any bigger. They are bad enough on a smaller scale.

Yes, rocky mountain spotted fever and all kinds of things, like they get hold and grow and don't want to let go. Jeepers Creepers.

Come on to Fort Lauderdale where you can get bitten by mosquitoes, alligators, crocodiles, Boa Constrictors, Iguanas, red ants, lizards, etc., and OFF will not help!!

I'll have to say thanks but no thanks. I'm happy right here with the chiggers and lizards.

Supposedly has to do with climate change. A lot more insects are going to be populating they said.
