I have two succulent plants at home, aloe vera and the thornless prickly pear. Besides not watering too much. How often do you water them? What is your area's weather? I am in a tropical country by the way. I am still new to growing succulents but I kinda wonder when to water them thoroughly. What about soil requirements?

I think you need to put them in a shaded area.

I have three pots of aloe vera here. Two is growing. The other one is quite thin and small. They are with my other plants but at the back area. I water everyday but they only get sprinkles.

my aloe vera is quite thin too, but i just pluck them from the motherplant actually, im afraid to water them i admit. i might drown them if i give too much water. i just give every other day just enough to wet the soil. i hope it's good enough.
