Have you ever had a black eye?

I've never been punched in my eye or had an accident resulting in a black eye. It looks quite painful. I know people who have tripped and fallen and ended up with a black eye. Have you ever had a black eye? Was it painful? Did it affect your vision?

I've never had a black eye, surprisingly, as I was abused a bit by my ex.

@pitstop because I got away after he hit me in my cheek, threw me on a thin twin mattress, and threw something towards me then charged him with abuse and got a restraining order on him. unfortunately, he babied out when he found out he may get jail time, and took 2 years probation instead of going to trial.

Years ago, my brother hit me in the eye by accident that resulted in one. Yes it's very painful. My eye was shut.
