A 26 year old Duluth man was swimming in the St. Louis River near Pier B resort when the current was too strong for him to handle as the current pushed him into a bay near a lift bridge on Saturday morning. The swimmer who did not have his name mentioned by the authorities was swimming from the west side of the canal to swim to the other side of the lift bridge when he was pushed away from his destination. The U S Coast picked up the swimmer one quarter mile from the shore. The swimmer was not injured physically. I am sure he will think twice when swimming near a lift bridge again.

At least nothing bad happened, but I'm sure he learned his lesson to know where he is swimming.

The swimmer will be more careful next time he goes swimming in a river.
