I Hate Road Construction!!!!

I hate Construction Season! I just got word that the bus stop infront of my apt, the reason why we moved here in the first place, will be down for at least a week, due to road construction. This sucks, because I ride the bus for free, but I have to pay for an Uber. There really isn't anything within "walking distance" (not for me anyway) and that bus is my way to get anywhere and everywhere. Fortunately I have a little money tucked away for just such an occasion, and whatever I earn on MyLot will end up in that fund, but it sucks that I'm going to have to use it. I really hope it's only a week, and that the dang city doesn't take too long. When we had a month long transit lockout a few years ago (a week after we moved here!) I blew about $400 on transportation!!!! Aarrgghh!!!!! How is the road construction situation where you live? If you don't drive, what do you do as an alternative? If you do drive, how does it affect you?

Is it just the stop in front of your building, or the entire street? If it's just your stop, can you walk to the next one?
I mostly just walk places. Takes me a while to get me my groceries, but taking the bus isn't that convenient, either.

If there is road construction, I drive alternative routes.

I am sorry that is happening to you. Can you get the bus in a different location so you can continue to ride it free?

The road near our house is under construction so we have walk.
As a commuter it takes longer to commute, but at least we can sleep on the journey. it is the drivers that are quite unfortunate
