When Baddies are treated like Royalty for Blackmail

Nuclear blackmail

At every level, some are difficult to please but get treated like royalty. I have seen it within family, workplace, even among countries. The majority is easy to please but is taken for granted, not given what is due. We all know few who keep others guessing and hard to please. I think they just throw their weight around to have their way and others kowtow to their whims and fancies. It happens at the international level too when the mighty have to go out of the way to please a difficult customer just because they have nuclear weapons. Then, will not such an approach confirm might is right or threat wins the argument? For lasting peace, decency and fair play, we need to shed our hypocrisy big time and sooner the better. Let those who play by the rules benefit and for that, all right-thinking persons should unite rather than look the other way in the face of blatant injustice. What is your view to set the things right, bell the cat? Image: Nuclear Threat from Wikimedia Commons

@DianneN I would say he is one of a kind and quite a handful for America's friends but may not be for the foes! siva

The sad fact is the 99%, who are stoic, are taken advantage of or even ignored to please the demanding 1% - siva

It's a sad fact that the awkward few seem to get preferential treatment, to the detriment of the law abiding majority. I know of no answer.

I can only think of what Edmund Burke said: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing". The good should assert to set the agenda - siva

Yes, sadly we live in a world where baddies are treated like royalty in the hopes that they will behave. It is all very convoluted @Shiva49 .

@Shiva49 I agree. We have to live with the way we behave and feel.

We have to satisfy ourselves that good behavior rewards us in the end or the reward is in our behavior itself, no need for outside approbation - siva

I always wonder why those people seem to get so much acclaim whether at work or elsewhere. It is a sad state of affairs.

The majority is not demanding; they are the real heroes. North Korea is a small country but punches above its weight because of its nuclear arsenal. There are countries many times its size and population that play by the rules but are taken for granted. And also difficult people are treated with kid gloves mostly just because they are hard to please - siva

Democracy or otherwise, the majority writ does not run. Whoever we elect to power the boss remains the same: greed and ego - siva
