My kid brother secretly gave us one pineapple fruit. He just laid it down on a cabinet without making a sound that was why I asked my sister who gave the fruit when she went to the city. This was the day that I was left alone at home. My sister does not know how to peel the fruit so I volunteered myself. But I pressed the fruit near the top and it was still hard and green. I then did not continue peeling it. I remember my late mother. When she bought 1 pineapple fruit, she would cut off the top and plant the top on a moistened soil. My mother had the green thumb, one thing I don’t have. My sister has that too. More often than not, the pineapple grows and bears fruit. My plan when I peel the pineapple? I will request my sister to plant the pineapple top so it will grow. Have you planted pineapple in your backyard?

They don't grow well here. It would be great to have one growing.

yes i imagine our backyard having 2 pineapple tops growing and the fruits were so teeny-weeny but they were sweet tasting.

well, we both belong. i cannot even tend flowers like roses because they wither and die quick.

@ridingbet We have a lot of pineapples in Isabela. Now, they are all rotten because bad karma strikes to my evil aunt there.

@Shavkat really? your bad aunt should give the fruits to the people who planted them. it is still bad karma if she does not share her 'blessings'.

my sister is also planning to press down the pineapple top in a pot with moistened soil. i told her that once the fruit grows, it will be difficult to re-plant it on the ground.

when i can feel that it is already soft and yellow all over, it might be ripe already. we also have canned pineapple chunks but it is better to be eaten when chilled.

a pineapple is not a tree, it is just a plant that bears only one fruit.
