Just came back from Nepal. The country is still upbeat even after the devastating earthquake. And I can safely say this is the cheapest country I ever visited. A hearty meal just costs $3-4 and the local food is delicious. Loved the momos. The goods are generally made in China but I guess that is the case for 90% of the world.. everything is made in china. One of the issues over their was people have very limited understanding of English which can sometimes cause you a bit of problems but overall a very nice place with abundant beauty and nice people.

Nepal is not a country that we hear talked about over here.

I love to visit a cheap country because it is affordable. It is very sad that Nepal suffered a devastating earthquake and it is wonderful they got some money from tourists like you visiting it. I would love to visit Kathmandu and Pokhara. I saw a friends photo album of a trip to Nepal and it looked amazing. I am keen on visiting more of Asia.

LIved there for ten years. People in general are friendly. Momo was my favorite too though I also liked thuppa and chow-mein. you're right in saying the markets are flooded with Chinese goods, but you can also find Indian products plenty. I also used some south-east Asian things. Common villagers may not understand English but English medium schools, which are many, are helping young generation to learn, read and write English.
