Gender and Respect. What’s With The Double Standard?

Has anyone else noticed how respecting a man means a kind of awed fear, but respecting a woman entails an unnecessarily “reassuring” sensitivity, that often comes with physical touch and diminutive words? I’m not delicate. Don’t treat me like a China Doll. I don’t give a dang if you’re a man or a woman. You keep your hands to yourself!!!!

In my country, lately, things are changing a lot as to what men can say and do to women without having problems.

Yes, but hat about women to women? I don’t want men touching me, and I don’t want women touching me. Strangers, hands off!

@danishcanadian I agree. But in this moment, here, they are centering in men and women. Women to women is not so common here, at least it wasn´t.

@danishcanadian I agree. Although that is somewhat cultural. In my country, a normal way of saying hello is to kiss each other on the cheek, be it between women and men or women with women. Men don´t do it with other men though.
