As much as I love to eat out the economy and my income don't allow for it too much so I make most of my meals at home.
I was/am an excellent cook--I make a Caesar salad from scratch--the best Shrimp Scampi you will ever eat--but cooking for one I don't get that fancy BUT I still make dinner an 'event' for me.
Even if I have a frozen dinner I will put it on a plate and add some 'color' plus I do have a homemade salad every evening plus a plate of fruit after for dessert.
Each month I use a different base for my dinner meals as, for instance, this month I made a base of Jambalaya to serve main courses on plus I will add either Avocado or Salsa as a topper.
Do you cook at home? Are you a good, fair or bad cook? Do you 'set' a table? Do you vary your meals? How much takeout or meals delivered? :O)

Do you go that extra step to make them 'special' each time? A candle and/or flowers on the table? Little things help.

Oh, have you ever MADE them??? Cooking the chicken, cutting it up, rolling them in bread crumbs? Baking them? That's not reheating--that's work!

I make all my meals at home. And I set the table when I eat with someone else. When I´m alone, specially in winter, I take my meals to my bedroom.

Your meals look wonderful Martin. So tasty looking and I love salad and fruit also.
I do not get fancy these days at all tho I do cook at home every day.
We do not even have a dinner table, something I must remedy one day.
Anyway, I buy what is cheap and I can afford.
Lots of rice and beans are staples here as are spuds.
Your shrimp scampi sounds supreme.
