Today I again got reminded how the ultimate danger hides itself amongst the most innocuous things. A man in India died when he went to answer a call while his phone was charging. One more case of unfortunate death showing how dangerous this seemingly harmless cellphones can be. A moment of carelessness and all is lost. Below is a link to the article
A 31-year-old man, who was reportedly speaking while charging his mobile phone, died at Vagupalli, near Kanigiri in Prakasam district. The police said Mastan Reddy was electrocuted as his cellphone ba

Using a cellphone when charging near flammable materials, such as a mattress / bed can also be dangerous. Because the cellphone receives electricity and on the other hand it emits electricity. Please note that the smartphone battery we use contains flammable materials. Tips for events and dangerous incidents not to happen to us: 1. Do not use imitation batteries, and try to use a cellphone battery issued by the company that produced it. 2. Do not overcharge. Unplug when full. 3. Do not recharge the battery near flammable materials, such as mattresses / beds, what else is gasoline. 4. Avoid calling too long. When your cell phone is overheating, let it sit until it is cold and use it again. 5. Do not pick up the phone when charging 6. If you feel excessive heat on the device, especially when being charged, immediately remove the device from the charger from the electricity if not possible, move away from your device 7. Avoid batteries from high heat exposure such as car dashboards exposed to sunlight or exposure to direct sunlight.

I've read a lot about similar cases which makes me to be extra careful. Just at a glimpse, the most horrific things happen. It is so sad to hear that.

I generally don't use my phone while charging.... but such precautions are futile if the charger is faulty, electrocution might even happen when unplugging the phone

People are careless that is why they use the phone while charging. It is sad indeed.

This exploding cell phone thing is ridiculous. As it is, I don't trust Samsung for anything given their exploding phone and exploding washing machine situations. Quality control certainly isn't what it once was, but then blame outsourcing for that one.

there are many instances though, that lives are spared because of unseen forces, like leaving a place then an accident instantly happens in that place
