Three people who were in the area of Cottage Grove Road in Bloomfield Connecticut are being called heroes for their daring rescue of an elderly couple that were trapped inside a burning home that had the retired police chief, off duty fireman from Plainville and an off duty police officer from Hartford were not at the scene, the fire would ended the lives of the people inside.
Off duty firefighter James Lenois and his two assistants were able to rescue the couple inside the home by using a ladder to rescue three people from the fire.
James admitted that he is a firefighter for 15 years, he knew that as soon as he smelled smoke from the house that was on fire, he knew he had to take action to save some lives.
The Bloomfield Fire Department arrived to put out the fire four minutes after the trio were rescued by the three Good Samaritans.
