Did he lie to me?

Hi all. Today I had an unpleasant experience. I had a table tennis training session scheduled for today but my coach failed to get there. He called me and told me that he could not get there today because his boss asked him to remain to work or called him to work from home but he overall acted pretty weird in my opinion. Do you think that he lied and used his boss as an excuse? Perhaps he forgot about me or slept too much or perhaps he got drunk. The reason why I suspect that it might be one of these reasons is because he was talking as if he barely awoke from the sleep or as if he was slightly drunk and forgot what he had to do. What you people think of this? Did he lie or tell the truth?

If he do it every now and then, probably he lied.

Pardon me but do you pay the coach in advance or per session? If he already got advance payment and acting this way and doing it often then he is most probably telling a lie.

@Cristi_Ichim give him the benefit of the doubt but make sure it's the last.

How many times these things with him happened? If it is the first time, it is excusable. But if more thn once thwn that is questionable
