Why is Firefox more popular than Internet explore or opera

So why is fire fox prefereed by most over microsoft's IE or Opera ? security reasons, but wat kind of security - virus protection or spam protection or protecting u from adware or spyware ?Have your say and help people know which browser is best for which reason or quality.

IE has more users as its the defaullt browser for windows. Firefox has advantage over IE in a sense that Firefox has so many add-ons, you can modify anything as to your needs.

firefox and opera are faster and safer than internet explorer. those two browsers wo't carsh just like internet explorer. they are not infected by spywares because they have their own pop up blocker. also they have tabbed browsing which means that if you would like to open 10 websites you only need to open 1 firefox or opera window. unlike in internet explorer you would have to open 10 windows. internet explorer 7.0 has tabbed browsing but it took them 7 years to even think of that idea.

Tabbed browsing is the most impressive feature of Firefox along with the high speed at which the sites load. Yeah IE 7 has tabs but that idea is also taken from Firefox.

I think firefox is better because it is more compatible with a LOT of sites these days. It is so much easier to deal with, offers great security, is easy to use for searching and just great. I didn't want to use it for the longest time but once I started it quickly became my favorite browser.

firefox is the best cause is very speed and have not any sort of problem

I agree on the speed factor, heavy sites that take time to load in IE, those sites load very fast in firefox. So definitely the speed advantage is with Firefox.
