TV Shows: Not a Fan of “Supernatural”

There was (maybe still is) a popular TV show called “Supernatural”. As best I can tell it's about two young guys hunting and destroying demons, ghosts and other supernatural beings with evil intent. Somewhere as the series evolved, I don't know which season, they started getting help from an angel.
I was never a regular viewer but I could tell the show was popular because folks in the social networks were always talking about it. People would blog about it. Share their favorite scenes. Have active discussions. So I decided to take a look since I found it on Netflix.
Honestly! I don't know what the appeal is. I made it through Season 1, Episode 1. I thought: 'It's popular! Maybe it gets better. (???)' I started Episode 2 and I'm like 'Aw! Forget about it! This is boring! (Yawn.)'
The first episode aired in 2005. I'm thinking the show was popular because the 2 guys who are the leading actors who play brothers, Sam and Dean, are kinda HOT!
That has to be the only attraction or draw. I mean ... if the 1st 2 episodes are any indication, what else could it be?
Have you watched this show and are you a fan?
(If you're a fan, I apologize.)

I have seen every episode! There are mediocre episodes but there are good ones with funky creatures and there is humor. The Scooby Doo episode was classic.

I love marathons or binge watching. I got hooked on a Turkish drama on Netflix one time. It was my first Turkish drama. I love Netflix. It opens up the world for me.
I stopped watching Supernatural for now. Other series got my attention. I may go back to it later. I wish Netflix would out the "Sleepy Hollow" series in the database. I like that cute British guy.

I watched the first four seasons, but the fifth season was so grim I decided I did not need it. Plus, the mythology got too far out, even for me. I mean, Metatron or Megatron? It makes me think of the transformers. The first season does get better as it goes along. You might try a couple more episodes.
My sister and brother-in-law still watch it though.

@cmoneyspinner A t least you avoided the season where the sideburns are so bad you'd quit watching for that alone.
But if you don't like it after the fifth episode, then you are probably right to say it isn't for you. My favorite season was the third. I liked it before it got super complicated.

I am a fan.
But no need to apologize, we all have different tastes, and evidently this one wasn't to yours.
And yes, it is still going. 14th season coming.
I don't know about the others, but 'the leads are hot!' was never the motivation for me. I grew to like the characters and wanted to know what happens next to them.

14 seasons???!!! WOW! I have to say that in the 1st episode they did do a good job of establishing reason, i.e. the driving motivator for why they were hunters and were so determined.

@cmoneyspinner The first 5 seasons were the best because that was the intended arc from the beginning, I think. The season 5 finale was still the absolute best for me. They could have ended it there and it will be all good.
But they still came up with interesting stuff after. Season 13 was pretty good so looking forward to 14.
