I would call this ether a remake or a ripoff

Last night I got on Netflix , I decided to watch the movie Till Death Do Us Part because it was given 4 stars. I started the movie and it didn't take long before I started thinking, man this is about like " Sleeping With The Enemy" a 1991 movie that Julia Roberts starred in.
So lets compare notes: both movies are about a woman that is married to an abusive husband and fakes her death to get away from him.
On both movies the woman relocates to a different town to start her life over and meets a good man. Husband finds out she is not dead and comes after her.
The story goes on about the same for both movies, I'm not going to tell how it ends since I know some have not seen these movies.
My point is both movies are basically the same thing, yea they changed a few things in TDDUP, like how each woman faked her death and how the woman knew her husband had found her.
The movie "Till Death Due Us Part" would have been a great movie to me if I hadn't seen "Sleeping with the Enemy"!
So yes, I guess you can say this in some ways is just a remake, basically the same thing except the woman in SWTE is white and the woman in TDDUP is African American.
So have you ever watched a movie that doesn't suppose to be a remake, but is almost like another movie you have already seen?

Yea, it doesn't take to much imagination on their part when taking someones else's work and calling your own.
