Equality vs. Equity

I think equality isn't very efficient considering being treated equal isn't good in every situation. Equity is a better system that's more beneficial but often falls short, like having a bus that has a ramp to allow handicapped people to get on with their wheelchairs, but it taking longer to get them boarded and inconvienciing everyone. Equity isn't treating everyone equal but giving them the tools to be on the same level. Equality is like giving everyone glasses with the same prescription even though some people's sight might be worse, some might be better, and others don't even need glasses in the first place. Equity is giving glasses only to the people that need them and adjusting the prescriptions to each person. If people viewed an equal world through the concept of equity, I think we'd be much better suited to have everyone on an equal playing field.
