Dancing In The Rain

When I woke up at 6 in the morning, the sky was already giving signs that it will rain heavily today. How heavily? God knows. I drank my morning tea by 6:15 am and spent next 45 minutes or so for checking emails, scrolling a never-ending page of Facebook and reading a couple of articles that came in my chrome feed. I was doing all this because of my habit, but to be honest, I wanted to go to the terrace of my house and enjoy this awesome weather. Physically, I was present in front of my computer screen, but my mind and heart had already started wandering in the streets. In my mind, I was enjoying dancing in the rain and too without worrying about anyone's judgment. I am in my late 20's and dancing in the rain is considered awkward and childish by the society. Funny thing is that the same society will pour buckets of water on your head when you are drunk and show your awesome snake dance skills. I wanted to do all this but I soon realized that there is no point of daydreaming and it better to focus on the present. After all, childhood is a privilege that is only available to kids, and once gone it is gone forever. Little did I know that my dreams will come true in coming hours. I had a couple of nearby places to visit in the morning today and as it was bad weather so I left early. My brother R had to go to the gym and we left the house together on his bike. We had barely traveled for 5 minutes and it started raining. Initially, we didn't like it as we had plans for the day and this rain was a hindrance for the same ( That's what the adult in me said). R was in the front seat and was doing his best to avoid rain and reach the destination as early as possible. But when you are in the middle of the road during a rainy day, it's almost an impossible task. And within a couple of minutes, it started raining cats and dogs. That was the moment when we decided to tie the limbs of the adult inside us and put a cello tape on his mouth. As we bid adieu to the adulthood, the child inside us had born again. We spent more than an hour wandering here and there in the streets like a madman. Because of the poor drainage system, water logging had started in the streets and the road, so we headed to the main road where there were better road and little traffic ( because of rain). It was really an amazing experience and we enjoyed every moment of it. The good thing about nature is that it is capable of making you happy and playful ( even if it’s for some time) even when your real life is completely upside down. We also came across some kids who were dancing in the rain and playing with each other. Although I had not technically danced in this rain, the good thing is that I enjoyed it as much as I could. And, this all happened because we forgot carrying our umbrella and I am glad about this forgetfulness. After coming back home, we called the people we had to visit today. How was your day? Do you have any memorable experience of spending time in the rain?

During childhood days, we had so much fun together with my friends playing in the rain. Things are different now.

I love what you said about nature being there to give a good time when life seems to drag us down. That's a positive insight. I had faced similar problems yesterday when I had gone to a seminar and for lunch, I had to battle excessive rain to make my way towards the canteen. Then while going back to the auditorium, it started raining with 5 times the force, and in the end I was half-drenched, even with an umbrella. I can't say I enjoyed it much, but wasn't mad either. It is times like this that makes a boring day interesting. I prefer to watch the rain from inside though. The reason is when I get drenched, I'm very much prone to catch a severe cold.
