The neighbor's call

I just got through reading an article that Little Things had posted. According to them a woman made headline news after she let her 8 year old daughter walk their dog around the block alone and a neighbor called the cops. It wasn't long after the child returned home that the police were knocking on the door, they said they were told that a child around 5 years old was walking alone with the dog. So everything was fine with the police and they left. But I guess the neighbor wasn't happy with the results so they called Child Protective Services and they started an investigation. The mother then hired an attorney to clear her name and the case was dropped in less then two weeks. This happened in Wilmette Illinois. Boy things sure have changed since I was growing up, us kids played at each others house, and most neighbors knew each other and their kids. I know it only takes a minute for something to happen, but the mother said she could she her daughter out of the windows except for just a little area. What is your view on this.

Eight-year-old girls walk their dogs in the street, which is very common here. I don't think this neighbor needs to call.

I wonder what kind of dog the child was walking?i have an 8yr old and i honestly would not send him walking a dog aroumd the block. Thats just me tho... Perhaps the child was bored or earning money walkimg the dog like a chore or mabey its no one business lol as long as the dog was size appropriate to the child walking it, who cares? Sounds lile the nieghbo. Needs to get a life
