The trend of kitty parties - Are you fond of it?

Hi mylotters. In India, one thing in trend since a long time is the kitty parties organised by the elite socialite ladies wherein they play games, eat food and gossip amongst them. Many ladies organise it at their homes turn by turn. There are many who organise it in hotels or restaurants. I personally believe that the money used in playing games and eating food, can be put into a noble cause instead of wasting like this. What do you guys think about it?
