Janmashtami Celebration - Birthday of Lord Krishna!

Hi mylotters. As you know I stay in India. India has very different festivals celebrated around the year by different communities. Today is Janmashtami. It's the birthday of Lord Krishna. In Mumbai, it's celebrated with great enthusiasm in different areas. The tradition goes like this that a group of people make a pyramid to reach the matki in which there is lot of white butter i.e. dahi or curd and it's broken with the help of coconut. There are different mandals in different areas wherein group of people participate in a competition of breaking the matki. The one group who does it, gets a good amount of cash for their hard work. On this day in many areas their occurs traffic jam as it's done on the middle of the road. People commuting on this day face lot of traffic.
