Why the long wait?

It was mentioned in my previous posts that I have my birth certificate corrected for a misspelled letter. It was already a long process and I am patiently waiting for it because I really needed the document badly. And because it’s almost two months (excluding the 6 months wait of my petition to be granted) after the document mailed to the National Office, I was expecting that it’s returned already to the local registrar. I made a call to their office and because they cannot confirm, I made a personal appearance to inquire. I was told that it would take 3-4 months before the document will be received back. Frustrating! This is the problem when you are far away from central offices because there’s so much delay in the processing and mailing the documents. It’s been a long wait and I hope that the administration of those offices could make a solution to expedite the process.

that is a long long await indeed. But when you are in the Philippines, it;s not that shocking

I don't know what happened of our government offices here. One thing I had issue also is with our postal office. The last time I need a money order, it's not available and it's for weeks already and they could not even answer you face-to-face when it would be available. People paid them for their salaries and they can't even give the right services.

@lady1993 Ha ha. If you needed money orders you'll probably go to there.

Wow. That must be frustrating. I had a glitch on my birth certificate that needed correcting also. I took it to the Vital Statistics office in my city and they printed out another copy, with the correction made and gave it to me on the same day free of charge. Why you have to wait so long?

It's good to hear that you do not need to undergo this hassle in your country. I wonder what the exact reason why it took that so long here. This maybe because cases like this should be noted and furnished to the office of the civil registrar general where central office is located at the capital.

Don't be surprised if they process it for a long time, because it is likely that not only you have to fixing documents.

@ZedSmart In addition, they must also be able to adapt to the current technology. Sometimes their printers or networks experience problems and take a long time to fix it.

@May2k8 You are right. There are times we would undergo so much delay because they're offline.

I understand that there are plenty. If that's the case they can at least hire additional people to expedite the process.

The local government agencies work so slow despite having the modern devices installed in their respective facilities.

@ZedSmart It only means that these modern devices are not effective.

That's exactly what I'm trying to understand why.
