Good afternoon, fellow MyLotters!
I’m only making one post today because I have a lot of work to do before I cash out tonight. I decided to make that post another “Facts About Me” and this time I’m doing a Mobile Phone Edition of the series.
1. I received my first phone (not a prepaid) when I was 18. It was a Christmas present from my parents. It didn’t have the modern features we have today because it was 2002, but I did have a Winnie-The-Pooh case, and my ringtone sounded like an ice cream truck lol. The bill eventually became too much for us at the time though.
2. We wound up switching to Tracfone. My parents bought two of those blue and gray Nokia phones. They were only to be used when we were out and about, so that we could check in, an for emergencies only.
3. I bought my own Tracfone about 10yrs ago, and I have been using them and paying for my minutes ever since (and I’m not interested in switching right now because it works for me). I bought the Motorola c139, which didn’t have any features such as a camera or downloadable ringtones, but it was pink haha. I didn’t care about the features, as long as I could use it to make calls when I was out and about (i.e., community college, substitute teaching or out with friends).
4. I eventually moved to a flip phone and QWERTY keyboard phone over the years, with a little more modern features, but not as many as other phones. I got what I could afford at the time, and what appealed to me. I did eventually get a touchscreen phone that could run Twitter and Facebook, but it couldn’t run apps such as Instagram. I also signed up for a monthly plan.
5. I finally bought my first smartphone with Tracfone in 2015. I think it was the LG Optimus Fuel. I liked it. It ran all the apps I wanted, gave me minutes for voice calls and texting, as well as mobile data, rather than splitting them up for each one. I have plenty of each, and I can add more for a decent price if need be (i.e, 1000 texts for $5).
6. However, I had a mishap with that phone last year, so I wound up having to buy another Tracfone (smartphone) at Walmart. Out of the selection they had, I chose the ZTE Majesty Pro (obviously I had my number and minutes/data transferred over), and I’m on the same monthly plan. I liked it, and then didn’t care for it for a while (as I’m used to LG, since my last 4 phones were LG), but I’m okay for now. I’ll be sticking with this phone for the time being, as getting another one isn’t high on my priority list right now.
Alrighty, I’ve bored you all enough (tho you had the option to hit the back button lol). I’m going to get back to my work, and I’ll TRY to go through my notifications later, but I can’t make any promises today. You all have a good day and take care. :)

My first phone was a Nokia when I was 18. Really I didn't even need one so after a month or so I never used it again. I didn't have a cell phone again until I was 26 and my parents bought it for me so when I was out with my kids if an emergency came up I could make a call. Right now I have an iPhone 5 I love. My cell service is trough Straighttalk who I've been with for about 8 years now.

I think everyone must have had a Nokia at one time or another lol. I use Android, but I think you can also get the iPhone through Tracfone. I think it's cool how these big time smartphones are offered through pre-paid carriers; it doesn't make anyone feel left out.

@Courtlynn I use Android. I wanted to switch back to LG, but I'll just stick with the phone I have for now. I just think it's cool that prepaid companies offer iPhones and Android phones. :)

I have the ZTE Majesty Pro. :) I use it mainly for text, pics and Internet, and to listen to music. I rarely use the Internet on it at home though; I have a laptop and tablet for that.
I don't have a problem with Tracfone. I would just move up because I wanted the modern features and couldn't quite afford a smartphone until they offered them, except my previous phone, there was a mishap with that one. But I've never had a phone break upon dropping or anything (yet).

Cell phones are so important these days. It is hard to live without one. Our loved ones can reach as anytime if there is an emergency!

@1hopefulman Oh definitely. You never know when you're going to need it to get a hold of someone, or when someone will need to get a hold of you.

We used to have the all grey prepaid tracfones. Lol. But mom had the blue one for a bit too i think.
We had prepaid when I was around 10-14 and first nonprepaid around 13-14. I dont remember what my first one was though, as ive had many different ones. But had to have been a flip or slide up.. I would think. Lol.

@Courtlynn OMG I remember playing snake on those old phones lol! And the pre-loaded wallpaper (which you couldn't even get on all phones), as well as the pre-loaded midi-file ringtones.
Yes lol. I developed a system that required me to count, like if the letter I wanted was third on there. But sometimes I went too fast and found myself going back around again lol.

Tracfone ends up costing way more than other prepaid plans.
