Passbook vs ATM

I'm always careful with my finances. I avoid debts and things I don't need. One of the ways to develop wise spending is by opening an account with passbook only. The reason is that I cannot withdraw anytime I want because banks are kinda far from us. I have to stand in a long queue. Unlike if I open with ATM (and ATM machines are everywhere) tendency is, I can withdraw money anytime I want thus it will lead me to impulsive buying. Atm is sometimes the reason why some can hardly save. I always have some money in my pocket though whenever emergency arises. ATM also promises little security. Nowadays, the crooks are just as smart as the banks in keeping their depositors' money safe. They can easily steal your money by doing some stuff beyond your imagination and before you know, your ATM is drained already. What about you, do you prefer ATM to passbook or vice versa?

I have both. Yes, you are right in saying that ATM leads to impulsive buying. And I am becoming a victim of it.

That is good idea Janet, I like the way you are doing this. I like it as my bank is right near me and I can go in withdraw funds and save it.

ATM because it saves you time and energy.

ATM is good for emergency, but for saving and larger amounts passbook is better.
