Are We Too Lazy To Use The Stairs?

Escalators and elevator gave us the convenience of moving from one floor to another. By using it, we’re able to go above in a short period of time especially if we are in hurry or carrying heavy objects. During the cataract operation of my sister, I was not able to accompany her when the hospital staff brought her to the operating room because I bought water at the canteen. I just followed there with the help of the signage pointing the direction. It pointed out that the operating room is located at the second floor. I look for the stairs but found the elevator. The sign reads that if you are a healthy person, do not use the elevator and use the stairs instead. I thought the stairs are adjacent to the elevator but it’s located to the distant corner and requires another walk. Now, are we too lazy to use the stairs? Is it really good to use elevator and escalators all the time?

I use elevator if I have to but usually stairs. because it takes a longer time for the elevator to come than to walk to the second or third floor.

You are very correct. We should not wait for the elevator to be free if we are just in the second floor.

I often use the stairs because I hate waiting.I only use elevators when it's already on my floor and when I have to go through several floors.

That's my reason also. I don't like to wait but if I'm going to higher levels, I do wait.

I believe we should not use them on a regular basis. Only when there is an emergency or when we are not well we can use them. Otherwise like you said it really makes us mlre lazy.

Believe me or not my first option would be the stairs than elevators and escalators because I'm a runner he he. It will help me to become stronger like I'm in training.

You are right. That's why I won't ride when I only go for the second floor.

It's a sad truth that innovation of escalators, elevators, lift etc have make us lazy in a way as we don't use stairs anymore only use when there is no other option.

They're just convenient to use but if it's just on the next floor, it's good if we would use the stairs.
