Do You Look at Dead Body in the Casket?

I don’t have the problem if the deceased was a direct family member but if it’s another person or I do not know the person at all, I won’t glance at it. I am not comfortable viewing dead body at the casket. It’s not that I am afraid but I usually skip this when attending a wake. How about you?

I can. As long as they don't stare back at me. ;)

I don't. Like you, I can view if the deceased is a family member and close friend. Although I really do not want to come near any casket. I'm not afraid it's just that I do not like the smell. There is some unpleasant smell coming from it. :)

@athaness My condolences. It's just a normal feeling especially if you are very closed to that person.

What I usually smell is the rotting flowers. I do not like its smell. Aside from that, if you get closer you may experience to smell the chemical used to preserved but I think it's rare not unless if the glass viewer was not properly installed.

@ZedSmart Yes. I don't like the smell of flowers. We just buried my grandfather this morning. His image was clear in my mind. Just saying. :)
