the sound I like at bedtime

Do you fall to sleep listening to some type of sound? I remember I went to my sister-in-laws one time and spent the night. I was trying to go to sleep on the couch, but was having a hard time falling to sleep. Mostly it was because of the sounds, She had two grandchildren that lived with her and each one of them slept with the radio on. So even though they had their door closed, I could still hear two different broadcast playing, I didn't think I would ever fall asleep because of this. My youngest son also has a habit of sleeping with the TV on all night. I think he's gotten out of the habit now that his married. But when he was younger, if anyone cut the TV off he would wake up. My habit is running a fan! I an so used to it, that if I don't have one it takes a long time for me to fall asleep. That might have been one of the reasons I couldn't fall asleep at my sister-in-laws. It does not matter how cold it gets, I will even run it in the winter time. I just face it away from the bed when it gets real cold. Other then my fan, I want everything else off, including all lights when I go to bed.
