For My Eyes Only

I recently read a post by Jo Ann about a strange experience she had, sort of alien like perhaps. It prompted me to write briefly about something that happened to me a few years ago.
It was not long after losing my son, Dustin. All I did (and still do) is think about him. I miss him more than anyone knows. I talk to him both inside my mind and out loud.
I know many have different beliefs and that is ok. But please don't judge. This is a special encounter I experienced that cannot be explained.
In the middle of the night, I woke up, sat straight up, and saw an illumination in the corner of my bedroom. I could not make out what or who it was but there was definitely something there. A presence. There was nobody else with me, before I got married, so it was for my eyes only.
The more I looked at it the more I could see Dustin. I could not take my eyes off of this "visitor". To this day I believe it was my son, Dustin. It was hovering in the corner with only an illumination around him. He was about the same size as Dustin and I just knew it was him. Then as fast as I saw it, poof it was gone.
I will never be convinced otherwise, it was my son. Maybe he was letting me know that he was still around. Still close to me, and I could talk to him anytime. Which I still do to this day. Yes some may think I am crazy, but you know what? Maybe I am and I care not what others think. This was personal, only for me to see.
Care to share an experience of your own?

I know my son has visited us at times. I even made sure to tell him what house we were moving to when we moved. I didnt want him to stop visiting and he hasn't

@CarolDM Chris slowly slowed down. But he does still pop in. More in the winter. He likes to knock the wood pellet bags over sometimes. At the old house he would play with the chain pull on the ceiling fan. He was tall enough that he would hit the chain when he walked under them and they would swing for a little bit dinging on the light globe. After he was gone they would sometimes start swinging.

How old was your son when he passed? I believe it was him, they are always with us and you can talk to him anytime. I lost my son 2 yrs ago at 31 and I know he is here with me. We have had many things happen around the house and I know its him. Never let anyone tell you what to think, he is your son and you have every right to keep him with you in spirit.

Cindy, He was 16. I will always talk to him. I could car less what others think now. In the beginning it bothered me but that was years ago and I have realized unless you have been through it, you can never relate. Others opinion do not matter. Thank you for your kindness. So very sorry for your loss. Dustin would have been 32 this year.

What you have just explained has in fact occurred over thousands of years by people like yourself, who have had an encounter with the spirit of a loved one who has passed away, and I know there are so many stories out there that if people would only admit it to themselves, spiritual encounters of this nature are as common as the emotion of love or any other emotion in human history.
But yes, there is a stigma attached to this phenomenon so many will never admit to it. I have admitted to the same thing before and of course, I get the usual SURE, AND THE MOON IS MADE OF CHEESE. You are not alone. Many of us, including myself, have had this type of spiritual awakening and it is something that should be respected and appreciated by those who have seen these visitations from the other side.

Agreed Anthony. I am careful who I share this with. First time to put it online because it was so personal. But yes, I know of many who have had these visits and they should all be proud of them, as I am. But others will talk down about them, judge them, etc. I am so over that type of mentality. When you lose your child and other loved ones, and you are lucky enough to get this type of visit, it matters not what anyone thinks. I would not take a million dollars for those few seconds.
Thank you for your encouragement.

First of all I want to say, Dustin is so handsome:) And what you experienced was very real, Dustin was letting you know that he's never far away. If you could see him physically, you would definitely talk to him. Realizing that he's nearby at all times, of course you want to talk to him! Nope, you are NOT crazy
My mother visited me once, since we moved into her house. She spoke to me!

@CarolDM I wonder why Dustin was depressed, at that time. Probably school.

@kobesbuddy I never knew he was depressed. Not sure he was. Not sure of anything actually.

How kind of you, I always told him he would break hearts, never knew it would be mine. But I did brag on him all the time and he would say, oh Momma. Wonderful you heard your Mom's voice. I have heard Dustin whisper Momma many times. I treasure those seconds.

If people would be more open, I am sure many more would have these experiences.
I can tell you the night after my Mother had passed, I felt her fingers fluffing my pillow to comfort me.
I know it was her and I care not what others may think either.
I am happy to know that you talk to Dustin as I do my Mom as well.
Nothing wrong with it at all.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
I have friends who also believe they have had signs of loved ones passed on too.
It does not surprise me that our loved ones want to comfort us and alert us to their presence, even tho they no longer have a body, their spirit lives on.

I believe it was your son that you saw in there. I guess that was his way of showing to you that he might have departed from this world but his spiritual presence is still here and watching over you. Good thing he decided to let him feel his presence. For most who lose a love one this does not happen very often.
