It is a sunny Friday morning today, my friends, how are you all? My son left at 7 AM with 4 co-teachers and about 15 students where he will coach some students at a literary competition in one of the northernmost towns in our region. I sent him load for one of his mobile phones and he acknowledged its receipt. He is my only son and even this early, I already miss him. He is 26 years old, and the thought that he won’t be here today until Sunday afternoon, is giving me anxiety. I trust him, but I gave him some important reminders like he should always lock his luggage, keep all his things and don’t leave anything when they come home, etc, etc, etc. well, it is but natural for a mother to be concerned about her son. But then, I should trust him fully because this is not the first time that he goes to other towns and cities. During his high school and college years, he and 2 of his close friends/classmates were sent to a seminar in the capital city; another event in Subic, in Baguio city, and many more in our region. That is why he received many accolades for his literary works in some competitions. That is why too, he is an online content writer in one medium site and he gets paid regularly every month. But… I miss him!

You can text him every now and then though. I do that when the boyfriend is away. I want to make sure that he is okay, he eats on time and what is he doing.

yes hija, that should be done always, but my son sometimes does not respond to me.he says he is grown-up now but i tell him it is the mother instinct in me that cares for her son.

we exchange text messages every morning but i don't do it often because he has to have full concentration with his tasks there.

Sorry you already miss him. I am sure the weekend will speed by and then he'll be back home again.
