Have you heard of Murphy's Law? Have you experienced any situation that would vouch for this law?

Murphy's Law states "anything that can go wrong will go wrong". But the problem comes when it goes wrong at critical junction. I have experienced it during the course of my sea voyages as Chief Engineer on couple of occasions. Critical auxiliary machinery like diesel generator and oil purifier have broken down at least expected time even though we had taken full precautions. Have you ever faced such a situation?
