2nd October -Birthday of Lal Bahadur Shastri

After reading a post about Mahatma Gandhi by Arunima Singh, i just remembered that today is the birthday of 2nd Prime Minister of India, Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri. He was a very brave and intelligent mind. He played a very important role during India Pakistan war. He gave a slogan 'Jai Jawan Jai Kisan', Hail the Solider, Hail the Farmer. He was the first person to be posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, A memorial 'Vijay Ghat' was built for him in Delhi. Shastri was known for his honesty and humility throughout his life. He died on 11th January 1966 at Tashkent, USSR. Lal Bahadur Shastri was truly a great man who gave less importance to himself.
