Most books are written in order to pass a certain message to people. I have read many and one has really influenced my life. It is known as "who moved my cheese." From the title of the book, you can easily dismiss it as it sounds like a boring children's book. The characters can also make you loose morale in reading the book but I kept reading it because I had seen it to be in the category of self help books and so I wanted to know the moral lesson behind it.
The characters in the book were in two pairs, two mice and two little people. The two mice were Sniff and Scurry and the two little people were Hum and Haw. The characters were running around a maze in pairs as I have grouped them searching for cheese. Whenever they found a pile of cheese, they would settle there and start eating. One day, the Cheese finished and they had nothing to eat. Sniff and Scurry were clever enough to start looking for new cheese. This is because Sniff had sniffed that the old cheese was going to finish soon and Scurry made the decision to scurry(run) around the maze looking for new cheese. Hum and Haw continued humming and hawing(complaining without doing anything) when the cheese finished. It took them so long to accept the change and start looking for new cheese.
The author was trying to tell us that we should always accept change and move on so fast. We should also be keen enough so as to see change as it comes and be prepared to take action.

The Bible. There's nothing like meditating on a Psalm.

For me, it is "The Bible". I've learned a lot of lesson from it that I use during decision making.

God's Holy Bible is number one on my list. But many years ago, I read "Something More" by Catherine Marshall and it really made an impact on my life. It was how God's Holy Spirit can change our lives.
