Christmas festival no place of The Nativity?

Can anyone give me a good reason why those who appose Christ would participate in a Christmas festival? Christ is the 6 letters in Christmas. I read this in the news where the city of Chicago has asked the organizers of a downtown Christmas festival to reconsider using a movie studio as a sponsor because of the ads for the film "The Nativity story" might offend non-Christians. How much more do we have to take on this? What foundation do you think this Country was built on? Other countries would punish you for opposing their belief. But we are the country of freedom. Could that be our problem? Give me your honest opinion I am not trying to offend anyone or oppose other religions.

You are not the only one who is sick of this. I am sick of people acting like it is ok to treat Christians like doormats. You don't see white people jumping on the Kwaanza bandwagon or muslims rushing out to buy a dreidel. I think it is all about the materialism to tell you the truth. They want the booty without giving God the glory. I think the non Christians who want to raise a stink about Christmas should have their own "Holiday" celebration and leave us alone. It seems some people are so concerned with their rights they are forgetting their manners. Christmas has been this way for years and now all of a sudden people are offended?
