Eyes Open During Sleep

Last month I travelled to Takoradi, the Oil city, to attend a workshop. I shared a room with a colleague at the workshop centre during the 2 weeks stay. I noticed that my colleague didn't close his eyes when he slept. Several times. It looked scary to me. When I asked him why he didn't close his eyes while sleeping, he looked surprised; he didn't even know that his eyes remain open when he slept. Is it a medical condition he should take care of? Or it's normal with some people?

Why should he bother if he can sleep in this way?

Perhaps it may be sign of hidden medical condition that may better be tackled now before it's late

@GovindaB Well, if you have this suspicion, then a visit to an eye specialist is the correct thing and not asking a community of ignoramuses.
