In my part of the world, trying to convince a girl to enter a loving relationship with you is called "toasting". Recently one of my friends asked me to toast a girl for him. I did. It succeeded, but my friend is no more interested. She ain't aware of that, and I don't wanna hurt her feelings. He ain't picking up her calls. How do I break this unpleasant news to her? Pls advice.

Hi Govinda! Which part of the world are you from. In the Philippines we refer to toasting as “manliligaw” in Tagalog and in my dialect “Manguyab” which is a counterpart of courting a girl. I think your friend is very irresponsible. If he’s not interested anymore he should tell the girl rather than ghosting her. It’s a cowardly act. And he should consider that he put you in a compromising situation. The least he could do is solve it rather than you having to solve his problem.

@GovindaB I always think that a man who awakens a woman’s love should take responsibility for it. Like you started a fire you should cook something on it or at least put it off. Otherwise there’ll be a big house fire.

@flapiz. I am from Ghana. Your term for toasting sounds sexy. I've adopted it. I agree with you about my friend's irresponsible attitude in this regard. The girl is gradually coming to terms with the situation. It's a matter of time, she'll soon know.

I had been the toasting cook in my initial days of my college.. But the guy broke up with my good friend and since then, I had taken this vow never ever again to be a toasting cook..!!

@anya12adwi. That's unfortunate. Your friendship might have shaken afterwards. Did u know the cause of the break up?

I don't know of any easy way to do this. Don't you think that your friend that is no longer interested should tell her himself?

@1hopefulman It's the best Way. But he's silent on it for reasons only known to himself.

"In my part of the world..." --- Your post doesn't make much sense if you don't mention your country on your account page, does it?

You don't have to take the trouble, she will realise it on her own.
