Very Loud Music in PUV’s

Have you ever experience riding a public utility vehicle? How’s your experience? What the hell are going on with the driver’s mind? I do not hate music, in fact gentle, good and relaxing music is nice to listen. However, I had this experience riding in PUJ (nighttime) which the driver turns his sound system to high volume with those boom boxes installed under the seats. I was seating at the back so there’s no way out I can tell him to lower down the volume. It caused me heart palpitations. Perhaps other passengers like it because nobody seems to care. I unloaded myself from the vehicle at the nearest stop because I could not take it longer. Photo Credit: Pixabay.com

Depends on the music playing for me. I can take it when it is a mellow song.

Not a mellow song. My ears would like to burst because of those loud bang at the sound boxes.

@simplfred It's a dance song. He may have thought that we're on a disco.

This does happens sometimes. I tend to either ask the person to lower the volume or stay silent and wish that my drop point comes soon.

Yeah I know that is not allowed but the traffic officers are not interested in telling this drivers to lower the volume of their music.

Especially during nights when traffic enforcers are no longer in their posts.

There are just drivers like that. In the first place, they should assure the convenience of their passengers.

Those jeepneys that have very loud music are common in the Antipolo and Cogeo routes. I experienced that always when I was in Antipolo going to Cubao and vice versa, when I was taking the caregiver training.

@ZedSmart I super agree. SOmetimes, I politely request that it be toned down. Some drivers would but mostly would not.

@SIMPLYD How rude. They should listen to the request. If I was not sitting at the back, I should have requested it.

I don't know why the driver turning the volume that loud. Would be his tripping. Maybe he's high with what.
