The name of University of Tennessee defensive back Garrett Johnson will be remembered by the Volunteer Nation after an act of kindness by Garrett was recorded recently and released on Twitter. Garrett was walking down the street to get something to eat when he met a homeless man who uses the name "Lala". When Lala told Garrett that he could not walk due to the pain on his feet since his shoes were worn down. Garrett then told Lala that he would return 15 minutes later to present him a gift. When Garrett met the homeless man once again, Garrett gave Lala a pair of sneakers as a gift. When Garrett wanted to give a second pair of sneakers to the second homeless man, he refused the offer. Garrett admitted he does not know these people at all, he was just doing his part to be a ray of sunshine. The incident was recorded on video. The act of kindness by Garrett was a huge git on Twitter.

It is true since even though this story will not make the lead story on the news, it will be a huge hit in Knoxville.

Garrett is one the nice guys at the University of Tennessee. It is a shame that the sports talk shows do not discuss the good deeds by the sports stars.

What a kind thing Garrett did. The homeless can get help from any Christian or Catholic church where they have lots of information and where I live there's the River of Life Church that feeds one meal a day to the homeless here in the middle of town There are so many homeless locally too. When Congress changed the Welfare laws it became time before Pres. Roosevelt again with lots of pitiful homeless. 211.org is another site to get help or a free call on the mainland. Locally the Mayor is trying to get all homeless to shelters; some won't go...with the way the weather safer in some sort of shelter. I found leaflets and cards to aid the homeless too.
A Day In The Life... Each day hundreds of needy people receive help here – ...people from all walks of life: the homeless, the elderly, and the addicted. Add to the mix those who are mentally ill, the forgotten veteran, the disabled individual, families wi

@Deepizzaguy And how! It's so sad for sometimes I see older people in wheelchairs with their belongings too so thin too. It's so sad seeing the homeless at all.

I like the way Garrett assists other people without expecting a reward from the person he helped.
