Carpal tunnel issues

So, I am a piano player (I'd say pianist, but I don't practice 5 hours a day!) and I have bi-lateral carpal tunnel syndrome. It is especially prominent in my left hand and annoys me ever more frequently. Lately (as in, over the last 3 or 4 weeks), I have been waking up with my hands numb and/or tingling. I wear a wrist brace on my left hand during sleep to prevent me from turning in my left wrist and further exacerbating things, yet here I am reporting these symptoms. Does anyone else suffer similarly or have suggestions? Thanks!

I had and do have some of the symptoms to this day. I am sorry you also suffer from this no fun. All my life I worked jobs that required the use of wrists, hands, arms, shoulders and so on. To minimize symptoms of course like you I would wear braces. Would rub it with icy hot or any and also do stretching. There really is no relief that I know of except the usual pain killers over the counter and if it is bad enough surgery which I never had. I do know a friend that had the surgery and her symptoms totally subsided. I hope you can find some relief somehow. I rarely wore the braces in sleep except when it was excruciating to move.
