In The Autumn Of My Life

In the autumn of my life I find myself reflecting more on the past that I do on the future. I find myself rearranging my priorities. Little things seem to have become so much more important to me. I find myself wanting to just spend time side by side with my husband, sitting in companionable silence. Leaning against him, my head on his shoulder, his arm surrounding me, producing the feeling of love, comfort, and security. I find myself clinging to every word my children speak, trying to imprint it upon my memory. I have been collecting more photos of the grandchildren, hanging them on my walls and looking at them each time I pass by. The autumn of my life has slowed down it's pace and lets me savor those special little moments and words. I am enjoying the autumn of my life.
