In a story that any of us would call irregular, a sea lion managed to get on a street in San Diego today and block traffic until the onlookers managed to contact the authorities to deal with the matter. After the San Diego police arrived to make sure that no harm would come to the sea lion, employees of SeaWorld Rescue came to come pick up the sea lion who was okay at the time that they saw the sea lion laying down on Garrison Street. The sea lion was taken to the local SeaWorld rescue center. A veterinarian will check up on the sea lion to determine what to do next after the sea lion gets the treatment of getting fluids. What amazed the SeaWorld officials is that they are amazed that the sea lion was out of its element of water for an unknown period of time. Why did the sea lion leave the element of water to the street remains a mystery.

To me it sounds like the sea lion got tired of performing at Sea World and decided to get a real job perhaps as a traffic cop and then they caught the poor thing and took it off the street Glad to hear its OK

I do not know much about sea lions. It is amazing that a sea lion leave his element of the water to wander down a street in San Diego.

Yes, it is strange that a sea lion would appear in a street. Perhaps someone captured it and it escaped. I am glad that it was rescued and hopefully it will be set free to the nature soon.

I am scratching my head too how the sea lion stayed alive outside of the water when he was rescued by the SeaWorld rescue team.
